lol Lord Of The Rings is NOT American.Sir Peter Robert Jackson is a New Zealand director, writer and producer of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–03) and The Hobbit trilogy (2012–14), both of which are adapted from the novels of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien.

No, it wasn't filmed in the US lol. It IS mostly an American film, though. The main producer is New Line Cinema, followed by WingNut Films, the Saul Zaentz Company, and the Saul Zaentz Film Company. Only WingNut is based in New Zealand. The rest are American.
